Air Malta aircraft struck by lightning

An Air Malta aircraft was struck by lightning this evening as it was approaching Malta. Sources said the aircraft, 9H-AEH, was hit on the front part. Although the aircraft did not seem to have suffered any structural damage, fire crews deployed at the airport in line with procedure and stood down after the plane parked. Aircraft have lightning protection systems but engineers must assess whether any system suffered damage, the sources said. (Source: timesofmalta.com)
