easyJet A320 makes emergency landing at Malta IAP

An easyJet Airbus A320-200 (G-EZTF), performing flight EZY8824 from Malta IAP to London-Gatwick, U.K., was forced to return back to Malta IAP for an emergency after the crew had to shut down engine #1 shortly after departure. The aircraft landed safely on RWY 31 at 1248lt, 20-mins after departing from the same runway. The aircraft stopped briefly on the runway while the fire team inspected the portside side of the aircraft. After it was cleared, the aircraft taxied to apron-9 under its own power. (21-Jan-2013)
