Air Malta A319 involved in bird strike incident on approach to Frankfurt airport

An Air Malta Airbus A319-100 (9H-AEL) performing flight KM-328 (on Jan. 18th) from Malta IAP to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), took a bird strike while on approach to Frankfurt's RWY 07R but continued for a safe landing on the runway. The aircraft was unable to perform the return flight however. The airline confirmed 9H-AEL needed maintenance following a bird strike on approach to Frankfurt. The passengers were offered hotel accommodation. A replacement A319 (9H-AEM) was dispatched to Frankfurt (on Jan. 19th) to pick the stranded passengers. (Source: avherald.com, 19-Jan-2014)
