Fleet Air Int'l SF34 intercepted by fighters after loss of communication

A Fleet Air International Saab 340B (HA-TAB), performing freight flight FRF-101 from Bucharest-Otopeni (Romania) to Birmingham (U.K.), was en route at FL220 over Belgium when the communication between ATC and the aircraft was lost. Belgium and U.K. fighter aircraft were dispatched to intercept the aircraft, the Belgian F-16s reached the Saab over the North Sea, the U.K. Typhoons and Voyagers took over and escorted the Saab to the destination Birmingham.
