United States Navy USS Carney calls at Valletta Port

The United States Navy destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) sailed into Valletta Port (the Grand Harbour) this morning on a courtesy visit.  

USS Carney is the 14th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer in the U.S. Navy. The ship is the first to be named after Admiral Robert Carney who served as Chief of Naval Operations during the Eisenhower administration. She was commissioned in service on 8-Jun-1996.


The U.S. destroyer is presently berthing alongside at Pinto-1 wharf and she's expected to sail from Valletta Port on Wednesday, Dec. 12th (8-Dec-2017)
