Lufthansa Technik Malta and easyJet have signed a five-year base maintenance contract for more than 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
easyJet director of engineering I. Davies said, "Based on our experience with Lufthansa Technik in Berlin, Brussels (Belgium), Budapest (Hungary), Milan (Italy) and Sofia (Bulgaria) and the cooperation we recently started at the Gatwick airport, we are convinced of the quality of the base maintenance services we can expect from Lufthansa Technik Malta."
Lufthansa Technik Malta CEO M. Motschenbacher called the contract "of major importance for the facility (in Malta), where more than 100 employees will work directly or indirectly for easyJet aircraft. It will allow us to increase the workforce by at least 50 new colleagues."
The Lufthansa subsidiary said this is an important contract for the entire network with work to be performed in both Lufthansa Technik Sofia and Malta facilities. (Source: atwonline.com, 7-Sep-2016)
